After over 17 incredible years of energizing dance floors and celebrating Ukrainian culture through music across Canada and in Ukraine, Edmonton's beloved Edmonton Ukrainian Band has completed its final chapter.

Edmonton Ukrainian Band was a fusion of Ukrainian pop, rock, and traditional music from Ukraine along with English favourites performed in a contemporary style. The band turned into one of Alberta's premiere dance bands entertaining audiences at dances, zabavas, weddings and special events throughout the Canadian prairies.

 

The band announced 2025 as their final year performing. The group took their final bow on October 18, 2025 at the Bud'mo Zabava, hosted by the Verkhovyma Ukrainian Song & Dance Ensemble at Edmonton's Ukrainian Youth Unity Complex. The band was honoured to share this farewell with the community that has supported them for nearly two decades.

"It's bittersweet, but we want to go out with the same energy, creativity, and love for Ukrainian music that brought us together in the first place," the band shared. "Thank you to our families, fans, clients, and the broader Ukrainian community for making this journey unforgettable. It's been the honour of a lifetime."
